Since about 17 years the building at Flutgraben 3 houses studio spaces for artists. The non-profit art-association Kunstfabrik am Flutgraben was founded in 1997 and has changed its name to Flutgraben e.V. in 2008. The association manages a building of approximately 3800 qm, which accommodates around 40 artists studios.

It provides over two large common spaces, the project room of 220 qm, in which different artistic events take place and the multi purpose hall of equal size in use by tenants of the house.

Flutgraben is set in what has formerly been a repair workshop for the East Berlin public transport system. At KIB - Kraftfahrzeugsinstandsetzungsbetrieb - trams, trucks and busses were repaired. The building has been a part of the Berlin wall in the separated city. To find out more, read about Grenzläufte at Partners.
